CBA: Shandong defeats Jilin, Zhejiang crushes Ningbo

The Shandong Kylins beat the Jilin Northeast Tigers 117-84 at home, with five players scoring in double digits for the hosts in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Thursday.

Marquese Chriss found Jarmar Gulley, whose layup put Shandong ahead by five points, midway through the first quarter. Dallas Moore dished to Chen Peidong for a three-pointer, and the Kylins pushed their lead back to five late in the second period. Moore then continued to pulls the strings and set up Chriss for a powerful dunk.

After halftime, Xie Zhijie passed to Chriss for another jam and Jilin called a time-out. The Northeast Tigers tried to chip away, as Jia Hao found Kavell Bigby-Williams for a kiss off the glass that cut the deficit to 18. But the hosts stayed in control, with Hou Peizuo's jumper putting the icing on the cake.

Shandong grabbed its second consecutive win, while handing Jilin a third defeat on the bounce.

In the night's other game, the Zhejiang Golden Bulls defeated the Ningbo Rockets 119-93 at home, with a three-pointer from Damian Jones pushing the early lead for the hosts to seven.

The former NBA center threw down a dunk, en route to 17 points in the first quarter. Jones followed up with another three, on the way to 33 points and 11 rebounds in the contest.

After the break, he drove in for a layup to put the Golden Bulls ahead by 14. And when the American sank another long triple, the home side led by 17.

Gabe York drilled three of his game-high 38 points, and Zhejiang won by 26 to end their losing streak at three, while Ningbo suffered a fourth straight loss.
