China's Guo Hanyu and Russia's Alexandra Panova won the women's doubles title at the Adelaide International on Friday, after beating Germany's Laura Siegemund and Brazil's Beatriz Haddad Maia 7-5, 6-4 in the final.
Despite almost identical statistics in the match, the Chinese and Russian duo were clinical under pressure, breaking their opponents at crucial moments in both sets. Guo jumped on opportunities at the net and hit strong returns to help keep her side on the front foot.
When their opponents double faulted on championship point, Guo and Panova completed their straight-sets victory. The win marked the fourth doubles trophy on the WTA Tour for the 26-year-old from Henan Province.
