The Miao ethnic group's vibrant Lusheng dance is always a standout feature of their traditional festivals. Take the "Tiaopo" (Slope-jumping) Festival, for example. Celebrated by the Miao people in the Rongshui Miao Autonomous Region of Guangxi, participants dress in colorful costumes and gather around the Lusheng – a traditional Chinese pipe instrument – to sing and dance in celebration of the harvest and to express their hopes for a joyful life.
