World No. 1 men's singles shuttler Shi Yuqi of China defeated Anders Antonsen of Denmark 21-8, 21-15 to win the title at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Malaysia Open in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday.

Shi showed nothing but dominance against the Danish world No. 2, telling reporters after the victory that he's glad to be performing with better consistency and that he wants to continue to challenge himself.

Shi was the only Chinese player to bring home a trophy from the Malaysia Open after An Se-young of South Korea beat Wang Zhiyi of China 21-17, 21-7 in the women's singles final. Wang said she has a lot to learn from the loss and will adjust her mindset for future competitions.

China's men's doubles duo Chen Boyang and Liu Yi lost the championship to South Korea's Kim Won-ho and Seo Seung-jae 21-19, 12-21, 12-21. The women's doubles trophy went to Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto of Japan who defeated Chinese pair Jia Yifan and Zhang Shuxian 17-21, 21-15, 21-15.

Thai duo Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran clinched the mixed doubles title with a 21-13, 19-21, 21-18 victory over Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping of China.
