Editor's Note: With the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership and the launch of the China-Egypt year of partnership, 2024 has witnessed a flourishing of China-Egypt relations. As the world stands at a historic crossroads, how will both countries build on their historic ties and shared values to deepen cooperation and build a more peaceful and prosperous future? In this edition of Leaders Talk CMG's He Yanke sat down with Essam Sharaf, former Prime Minister of Egypt, during his 46th visit to China. Sharaf says people around the world "depend on China as a peaceful power" and that no other country has had such a "positive impact" on such a large group of countries. The BRI, he says, is the world's largest international cooperation platform and China's three global initiatives are the "building blocks" to realize a community with a shared future. For its efforts, Sharaf says that China is facing a "media war" of misinformation which only cooperation and mutual learning through people-to-people exchange can overcome.
