World Mayors Dialogue·Nanning: A city of 'old friends,' a window of cooperation

Facing the Beibu Gulf in south China, Nanning is the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and also a border channel for China-ASEAN cooperation. As the closest provincial capital to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries, Nanning exudes warmth with its laoyou rice noodles, or old fried rice noodles, and bears witness to the profound friendship between China and ASEAN. CGTN, together with the Nanning Municipal Government and the Information Office of the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, will host the Global Mayors Dialogue in Nanning. On January 16, CGTN's Wang Guan sits down with mayors and city governors from Nanning, Vientiane, Yangon, Surat Thani, Kulim, Mong Cai, Siem Reap, and Mataram in the city of "old friends" to explore new pathways for urban openness and cooperation and write a new chapter for building a "China-ASEAN amicable home."
