Chinese FM calls for new stage of China-Vietnam community with shared future

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday called for promoting the China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance to reach a new milestone.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with Vietnamese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, who is in Beijing for the first strategic consultation between the Chinese and Vietnamese foreign ministries.

Noting that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relation between the two countries, Wang said China is ready to work with Vietnam to maintain high-level exchanges, deepen strategic mutual trust and expand mutually beneficial cooperation to serve their modernization drive.

Nguyen Minh Vu said Vietnam has always prioritized its relationship with China, pledging to enhance high-level exchanges and fully utilize the dialogue mechanisms between the two countries' foreign ministries and other departments. He emphasized Vietnam's commitment to push for more tangible progress in building the Vietnam-China community with a shared future.
