As the Year of the Snake draws near, Chinese artists are releasing new cultural products to commemorate its arrival. CGTN's Wang Mengjie spoke to Zhang Wang, the designer of this year's snake-themed commemorative postage stamps and other official products released ahead of the Spring Festival.
From fridge magnets and decorative items to postage stamps, Zhang said China's cultural depth is at the heart of his design. As the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) listed the Spring Festival as a form of intangible cultural heritage last year, the designer believes the market for snake-themed products will likely see a boom in consumption.
