China's annual Spring Festival travel rush, also known as Chunyun, officially kicked off on Tuesday. An estimated record number of 9 billion trips are expected to be made during a 40-day period of festivities. With the implementation of the eight-day Spring Festival holiday for the first time, which is one day longer than in previous years, coupled with the relaxation of transit policies, people's willingness to travel has become stronger. Both the country's railway and aviation systems have said they will scientifically arrange transport capacity, improve service quality, strengthen safety assurance, and enhance emergency response capabilities.
