A convoy believed to be carrying South Korea's impeached president, Yoon Suk-yeol, left the headquarters of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials in Gwacheon, heading to a detention center. Yoon was detained earlier in a major operation at the presidential compound. He insisted the anti-corruption agency lacked authority to investigate him, adding that he complied to avoid violence. Yoon, the first sitting president in South Korea to be arrested, now faces potential rebellion charges and a lengthy prison sentence.
