South Korea's impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol said Wednesday that he had decided to submit to questioning over his failed martial law bid to avert "bloodshed" even though he believed the probe was illegal. Earlier, South Korean investigators arrested Yoon at the presidential residence in Seoul. This morning, investigators confronted Yoon's supporters, lawmakers of the ruling conservative party and Yoon's defense counsels outside the main gate of the presidential residence for over two hours. Some injuries were reported from clashes between the sides. Investigators also arrested the acting chief of the presidential security service. A South Korean court issued a warrant to arrest the acting chief, who blocked an attempt earlier this month to arrest Yoon, which ended in a dramatic standoff at the presidential residence.
