People and businesses in Taiwan have sent donations to Xizang after last week's earthquake. The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council briefed the media on the donations earlier today.

CHEN BINHUA, Spokesperson, Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council "People from all walks of life in Taiwan have expressed concern and offered donations to the disaster-hit areas through various forms. By last Friday, the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland and Taiwan enterprises like Foxconn, Want Want, Ting Hsin International, and the Uni-president donated more than 32 million yuan. Relevant groups, institutions and entertainers on the island have extended help and donated money to the disaster area. This once again reflects the bond between compatriots on both sides of the Strait who are brothers and sisters who help each other. We are grateful to relevant organizations and individuals in Taiwan as well as the vast number of Taiwan businessmen and enterprises for their care and help."
