At the FIS World Cup in Laax, Switzerland, China's Olympic gold medalists Su Yiming and Gu Ailing made it through the qualifying rounds on Wednesday.

Some 100 snowboarders participatd in the second slopestyle event of the season. The 20-year-old Su, who won the silver medal in this event at the Beijing Winter Olympics, finished sixth in Heat One with 70.47 points to reach the semi-finals.

Earlier in the women's freeski slopestyle qualifying round, double Olympic champion Gu came out on top with 78.20 points to reach the final.
