Cross-strait economic exchanges and cooperation have made steady progress in 2024, and economic integration and development of the two sides has been deepened. That's according to officials from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, who added that personnel exchanges are also increasing.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, 7,941 Taiwan-funded enterprises were established in the Chinese Mainland in 2024, up 1.6 percent year on year. In 2024, more than 4.4 million trips were made between the two sides, up 53.8 percent year on year. Among them, more than four million trips were made by Taiwan compatriots to the Chinese mainland, an increase of 54.3% year on year; and 382,000 trips were made by people from the Chinese mainland to Taiwan, up 49.2 percent year on year."
