American middle blocker Maxwell Holt claimed his second Olympic bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris. In an interview with CGTN Sports Scene's Shen Xiang, he shared how the curiosity he has for Chinese culture led him to join Shanghai Bright. He also praised the Chinese volleyball league and its facilities, highlighting sports as a bridge between languages and borders.

The USA lost to Poland 3-2 in the men's volleyball semifinals at the Paris Olympics, but swept Italy 3-0 to finish in the third place. Having made three Olympic appearances for his country, Holt is satisfied with his achievements.

Holt joined Shanghai after the Olympics as he was attracted to the uniqueness of Chinese culture. He praised the Chinese league and many of its players.

The 2028 Olympic Games will take place in Los Angeles. Holt, who turns 41 that year, is not sure if he will play again, but wants to leave the possibility open.
