A landmark photovoltaic (PV) project in the Taklimakan Desert, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has been connected to the national power grid. With the development of PV projects in recent years, the Taklimakan Desert, the world's second-largest shifting sand desert, has transformed into a hub for China's sustainable energy industry.
