Authorities reported at least 27 injuries in southern Taiwan after a magnitude-6.2 earthquake struck Tainan City at 12:17 a.m. at a depth of 14 km. Over 20 aftershocks followed. While no deaths have been reported, some buildings collapsed, and power outages occurred. The damage is being assessed, and schools and businesses in Tainan have been closed for debris removal.
