The construction of a "Beautiful China" will focus on further promoting the prevention and control of pollution, improvement of the ecological environment and the enhancement of people's wellbeing, according to the released guideline.
The pilot projects for building a "Beautiful China" will be launched at the regional, provincial, city and county levels, the guideline indicates.
"We will work at our best to yield innovations in theory and practice by the end of 2027. We will also work to complete the development of several demonstration models that have their own unique characteristics and also meet the expectations of the broad masses of the people, so as to accumulate experience and set examples for comprehensively promoting the construction of 'Beautiful China'," said Pei Xiaofei, spokesman of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

The serial documents also say that about 50 cities will be designated to launch projects for building a "Beautiful China" in five aspects: green and low-carbon development, environment improvement, the quality of living environment, safety and health and smart and efficient governance.
In terms of the construction of "Beautiful Rural Areas," the documents say China will work to complete the construction of 40 percent of the entire counties nationwide into "Beautiful Rural Areas" by the end of 2027, with 60,000 administrative villages nationwide seeing completion of their environment improvement.
