2025 marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Afghanistan. Our CGTN correspondent Zmaryalai Abasin interviewed Shir Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan. He welcomed China's tax-exemption policy on Afghan products and more people-to-people exchanges.

ZMARYALAI ABASIN CGTN "How does Afghanistan view the policy that Afghan products are to enter the Chinese market with a 100-percent tax exemption starting from December 1, 2024? Which industries in Afghanistan are expected to be most significantly boosted by this policy?"

SHIR MOHAMMAD ABBAS STANEKZAI Deputy Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Afghanistan "It's a very positive and adequate step, and it will unprecedentedly encourage our businessmen to export their goods to China. It will boost trade and economic affairs between both countries. We praise this step, and it will pave the way for even more positive relations between the two countries."

ZMARYALAI ABASIN CGTN "What highlights and achievements have been made in cultural exchanges between China and Afghanistan? What important role have these cultural exchanges played in enhancing the mutual understanding between the two peoples?"

SHIR MOHAMMAD ABBAS STANEKZAI Deputy Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Afghanistan "Afghanistan is a beautiful country with stunning landscapes. Not only hundreds but thousands of Chinese citizens have recently visited Afghanistan. If the Chinese government resumes visas for Afghan nationals I think our people will enjoy visiting China and enjoy its touristic sites. It will also open a new window for Afghans seeking medical care and business opportunities."
