China's high-speed rail system makes cross-country travel more convenient for domestic and international travelers. One English teacher from Australia is exploring China with her friends from around the world. Wang Mengjie has the story.

Teaching in Nanchang, east China's Jiangxi Province, Canan Temel takes China's high-speed train to visit her friends at Jingdezhen for the first time.

CANAN TEMEL English Teacher "I only just found that it's 40 minutes. If I had known earlier I would have gone there earlier. The speed train is so fast, very clean, very convenient. It's very different to Sydney."

Jiangxi is the first province in China to have 350km/h high-speed trains that connect every city within the province. "China speed" is not the only thing that has impressed the Australian teacher.

CANAN TEMEL English Teacher "The Chinese government has just implemented the new policy about 240 hour visa-free. It's great news because my son and my sister will come to visit me. They can stay here without a visa. So that's amazing!"
