Al Nassr defeated Al Fateh 3-1 at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, to rise to No. 3 in the Saudi Pro League.
Playing against the bottom club, Al Nassr were at an advantage from the beginning of the game. Cristiano Ronaldo, who will turn 40 in less than two weeks, scored a volley in the 37th minute, but it was later ruled offside by the video assistant referee (VAR).
The home crowd waited another four minutes for their first effective goal, scored by their opponents' defender. Angelo's cross was defelcted by Marwane Saadane into their own goal, allowing Al Nassr to lead 1-0 before the halftime break.
The hosts doubled their lead 12 minutes into the second half via an Angelo freekick that was headed into Al Fateh's goal by Mohamed Simakan.
Al Nassr's victory seemed a little less certain in the 72nd minute when Mourad Bartna disposessed goalkeeper Bento Krepski and cut the deficit to 2-1 with a powerful shot.
Ronaldo added Al Nassr's third goal three minutes before the end of regulation time. Sadio Mane set up a great opportunity for him with a cross and the Portuguese veteran grasped it for the 920th goal of his career.
Al Nassr are still eight points behind the leaders Al Ittihad despite the win.
