Wang Yi meets India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri in Beijing

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri in Beijing on Monday. Observers say this is an indication that China and India are restoring a mechanism to enhance dialogue and work on specific issues in the political, economic, and people-to-people domains. Wang Yi said that China and India should seize the opportunity to move towards each other and achieve mutual success, rather than be suspicious, alienate and consume each other. Vikram Misri echoed Wang's sentiments, expressing India's willingness to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and to fully support China's work as the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) chair.
