In the last seven decades, Zhu Maojin has lived in a Beijing hutong and over the years, his living environment has dramatically improved. So has the festive period during Spring Festival. "Every day feels like New Year," Zhu says, reminiscing the days when his family was barely scrapping by. Yet, in his eyes, it’s the deep longing for family reunions that still truly defines Spring Festival.
