Among many coastal provinces of China, local people celebrate the Chinese New Year with the "Carp Lantern Dance."
In this year's Spring Festival, a group of dancers in red arrived in Sansha City of South China's Hainan Province. They waved lifelike carp lanterns and walked through the streets to celebrate the Spring Festival.

In Sansha Yongxing community, Hainan Province, a joyful carp lantern performance is taking place.
These performers from Tanmen Town, Qionghai City are waving carp lanterns, changing formations in sync with the rhythm of gongs and drums, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Residents of Yongxing community have also opened their doors to welcome the fish, praying for good fortune in the Year of the Snake and abundance throughout the year.

The tradition of "Carp Lanterns Dance" has been passed down for centuries since the Ming Dynasty. Carps symbolize prosperity and are highly respected by coastal residents in China.
