2025 Spring Festival: Landmarks light up in red for Chinese New Year

Landmark buildings in Shanghai, including the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and the Shanghai Tower, were lit up in red to welcome the Chinese New Year. The Shanghai government promoted the "The World Lights up in Chinese Red" campaign, and cooperated with world landmarks, like the Empire State Building, the Burj Khalifa Tower, and the Sydney Opera House. Each landmarks lights up red on the first day of Chinese New Year. There will also be a series of activities worldwide to celebrate the first Spring Festival after its inscription on UNESCO's World Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.
