A view of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. /VCG
China is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposes the 10-percent additional tariff announced by the Trump administration on Chinese goods, China's Ministry of Commerce said on Sunday.
U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Saturday to impose a 10 percent tariff on goods imported from China.
In response to the U.S. side's wrong actions, China will file a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization and take corresponding countermeasures to firmly safeguard its own rights and interests.
China urges the U.S. to correct its approach and hope the U.S. and China can meet each other halfway, the ministry said in the statement.
