Peruvian youth Anna Paula Peralta Reyes used to study at a Chinese school in Peru for 11 years before furthering her studies at Jilin University in China. During her time in China, Anna not only delved into Chinese culture but also forged heartwarming friendships with local residents.
In this video, she visits the Chinatown in Lima to see how Chinese culture blends with her city. The shops there are decked out in red, selling red envelopes or hong baos, spring couplets and other items related to this year's zodiac animal, the snake. Seeing Chinatown full of energy and color, Anna can't help but admire the rich Spring Festival culture. "It's the perfect moment to feel the joy of a culture that, despite the distance, feels closer than ever!" she said.
