Spring Festival celebrations across China this year featured a range of exciting tech elements, especially robots.

In Enshi Grand Canyon Scenic Area, central China's Hubei Province, robot dogs were incorporated in traditional lion dances, creating a unique spectacle.

"It was really fun to watch the lion dance performance with robot dogs. The kids loved them and were very excited and happy," said a tourist.

Not far from the dancing robots, people performed the traditional hand-waving dance of the Tujia ethnic group, and many tourists, including foreign ones, joined in with great enthusiasm.

"It is very nice to come here. I think it was a great cultural display. I really loved the dance and other performances. I really loved it," said Muhammad Ali, a tourist from Pakistan.

"I really love to visit this place because the performances are very good. I really love it. China is very good," said another tourist.

Traditional temple fairs are also held during the Spring Festival. This year, Beijing held its first artificial intelligence (AI)-themed temple fair, which offered visitors a mix of tech elements with traditional festivities.

The most eye-catching of them was a robot band. Four robots, playing drums, keyboard, bass and guitar, achieved a perfect fusion of AI and music through mechanics, electronics, software and motion control algorithms.

A robot also wrote the Chinese phrase "Gong Xi Fa Cai" (may you be prosperous and wealthy) in five font styles.

Visitors also enjoyed robots performing moves from Peking Opera as well as the famous face-changing act from Sichuan Opera.

"Our main purpose is to promote robots for civilian use, so that everyone can better understand and use robots," said an exhibitor at the fair.

The AI temple fair showcased hundreds of AI scenes, attracting tens of thousands of tourists. In addition to the aforementioned performances, robots also made sugar figures, mixed cocktails and made desserts. These creative performances allowed people to experience the charm of technology up close.
