February 4th marks the third anniversary of Beijing Winter Olympics. Another grand winter sports event – the 9th Asian Winter Games – is kicking off in a few days. At the start of the lunar spring, northeastern China's city of Harbin shines with ice and snow, as well as a sense of confidence and vitality. Yang Yang, Olympic champion and a former short-track speed skater joins CGTN's Wang Guan to discuss the impact of the Asian Winter Games on regional economy. She notes that China's booming ice-snow economy has powered its winter sports, and vice versa. She believes the Asian Winter Games is set to be another highlight after the Beijing Winter Olympics, drawing more attention and creating bigger sports, cultural, and economic gains.
