Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region made significant progress in improving people's well-being and boosting economic development in 2024. The region allocated 12.9 billion yuan ($1.76 billion) to fund 21 key livelihood projects, with a focus on employment, according to data released at the third session of the 12th People's Congress of the Xizang Autonomous Region. Looking ahead to 2025, Xizang plans to expand its livelihood initiatives to 28 projects, covering employment, education, healthcare, social security and transitional living assistance for disaster-affected individuals.
