Applying pressure on China is not the right way for the United States to handle its relations with China, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Wednesday, referring to the U.S.'s additional 10 percent tariff on goods from China.

Noting China is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposed to this, Lin said there will be no winners in the "trade war, tariff war."

China urges the U.S. to correct its wrong practices, address respective concerns through equal consultation, and promote the stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations, Lin added.
