A deterioration and intensification of the China-US trade war would have a very negative effect on global markets, including increased bond yields, higher inflationary expectations and lower of equity valuations, said Hong Hao, chief economist at GROW Investment Group, during an interview with CGTN.
Hong added that as a result one should not be surprised to see "substantial heat" on currencies, bond markets and global markets overall.
