The 9th Asian Winter Games opened in China's "Ice City" Harbin with an artistic performance.
The performance at the opening ceremony titled "Dream of Winter, Love among Asia" lasted approximately 22 minutes and was divided into three chapters. These chapters advanced successively from Harbin, to other parts of China, and then to Asia, demonstrating Harbin's ice and snow culture, China's passion for ice and snow sports, as well as the deep connections between the people of Asia through ice and snow sports.
Running from February 7 to 14, the Harbin Games marks China's third time hosting the Asian Winter Games, following Harbin 1996 and Changchun 2007. A record 34 countries and regions with over 1,200 athletes will compete in Harbin 2025, surpassing the previous high set at the 8th Asian Winter Games in Sapporo, Japan in 2017.
