The rapid rise of China's DeepSeek has captured global attention. Western media have drawn comparisons to the Cold War-era "Sputnik moment," evoking the fear triggered by the Soviet Union's first satellite launch. However, Angela Li, chair of the LSE China Development Forum, told CGTN's Wang Guan that while competition may be present, the increasing interdependence of global supply chains and technology makes such comparisons overly simplistic.
