World leaders and technology executives are convening in Paris on Monday to discuss how to safely embrace artificial intelligence.

Top political leaders, including China's Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing and U.S. Vice President JD Vance, will attend the summit. Other notable attendees include Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

"We're living a technology and scientific revolution we’ve rarely seen," French President Emmanuel Macron said Sunday on national television France 2.

The plenary session is set for February 11.

Reuters reports that Alphabet (Google) CEO Sundar Pichai and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman are slated to give talks. According to Washington Times, Microsoft President Brad Smith, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, LinkedIn Co-founder Reid Hoffman and several representatives from OpenAI will also speak at the summit.

As Google Senior Vice President James Manyika noted at a press reception on Sunday, the opportunities from AI are now in "much greater focus."

Delegations are also expected to discuss how to manage AI's massive energy needs as global temperatures rise, along with the role of AI in the developing world.
