'Ne Zha 2:' A global cultural phenomenon with sold-out screenings

Since its release, the Chinese animated blockbuster "Ne Zha 2" has garnered attention both in China and internationally, sparking a wave of excitement among global audiences. Overseas demand for tickets has been overwhelming, with presale tickets for the North American premiere already sold out, and many cinemas reporting 90 percent seat occupancy rate for screenings ahead of its official release.

As of February 10, 2025, “Ne Zha 2” has garnered approximately $1.152 billion in global box-office earnings, securing its position as a major global success. The film’s popularity has ignited significant interest, particularly among overseas Chinese communities, making it a cultural sensation beyond its domestic market.

The film will officially debut in North America on February 14, following special screenings starting on February 12. It will also open in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea on February 13, with additional releases planned in the countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, South Africa, Pakistan, Japan, and South Korea.
