China's Li Haotong won the DP World Tour Qatar Masters in Doha, Qatar, on Monday after sinking a birdie putt at the 18th hole.

Li shot a three-under-par 69 in the final round to finish at minus-16 for the week. He went into the last 18 holes with a two-shot advantage and started birdie-birdie to increase his lead to four.

But Li was caught and overtaken at the top by Denmark's Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen on the back nine. The two then went neck-and-neck down to 18. The Chinese golfer saw his approach land in the bunker and he could only chip his recovery shot to 15 feet from the cup.

Then came the decisive moment when Li followed up with a dramatic birdie to enter the winner's circle for the first time since the 2022 BMW International Open in Munich, Germany, where he also made a long putt to seal the win.

"It means a lot. I never thought I could come back in this position," Li said. "Even after yesterday, I felt like this morning was really stressed. I'm just so pleased I made that putt on the last. I'm just very glad I closed out nicely. I'm guaranteed to celebrate this one nicely. Definitely going to enjoy that."

Neergaard-Petersen finished in second place by one shot. England's Brandon Robinson Thompson came in third, sitting two shots behind Neergaard-Petersen and trailing Li by three.
