With the 9th Asian Winter Games set to close in just two days, Timothy Fok Tsun-Ting – a Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), President of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Olympic Committee, and First Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) – visited CGTN Sports Scene's special studio in Harbin on Wednesday, for an exclusive interview with Greg Laffradi.

Fok expressed his delight at the record-breaking participation in this year's event, with 34 nations and regions represented. He also praised China's remarkable achievements in snow and ice sports, and conveyed his hopes that Harbin 2025 will inspire more individuals to engage in cold weather pastimes.

Looking ahead to the next edition of the Asian Winter Games, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia in 2029, Fok emphasized the potential for greater development of snow and ice sports in West Asia. As the President of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of the Hong Kong SAR, he also shared his pride in the Hong Kong ice hockey team's impressive top-eight finish in Harbin.

Coincidentally, Fok's 79th birthday falls on the final day of the Asian Winter Games, and he shared his birthday wish for the ongoing success of Harbin 2025, hoping the event will leave a lasting legacy that encourages future generations to embrace cold weather sports.
