Chinese athletes continued to assert their dominance at the Asian Winter Games in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, on Thursday, continuing their run at the top of the medal table.
The host nation started the day by crossing the line first in the women's biathlon 4×6 kilometer relay, claiming China's 32nd gold at the ninth edition of the continental competition.
The Chinese side consisted of Meng Fanqi, Tang Jialin, Wen Ying, and Chu Yuanmeng. After Meng earned silver and Tang picked up bronze 24 hours earlier in the women's 7.5km sprint, they helped the home squad capture gold in the relay in a time of 1 hour, 29 minutes, 6.3 seconds. South Korea finished 21 seconds later to collect silver, while Kazakhstan came away with bronze.
In the men's 4×7.5 kilometer relay, the Chinese team featured Hu Weiyao, Wu Hantu, Yan Xingyuan, and Gu Cang, who clinched bronze earlier in the men's 7.5-kilometer sprint. They clocked a time of 1 hour, 25 minutes, 32.7 seconds to secure bronze, as the biathlon events came to a close at the Yabuli Resort.
With the cancellation of the women's snowboard halfpipe final, the results were decided based on the scores from the qualifying round. China's Wu Shaotong ended up in third place with bronze, while veteran compatriot Cai Xuetong took the fourth spot.
