A Chinese military spokesperson said on Friday that the Chinese navy's participation in a multinational naval exercise demonstrates China's commitment to maintaining maritime security with other countries.
Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, made the remarks when asked to introduce the Chinese navy fleet's participation in the multinational joint exercise code-named "Peace-2025" in Pakistan.
At the invitation of the Pakistani military, a Chinese naval fleet consisting of guided-missile destroyer Baotou and comprehensive supply ship Gaoyouhu participated in the joint exercise from February 6 to 11, Zhang said.
During the exercise, the Chinese naval fleet engaged in various activities with participating countries, including professional communication and ship visits, and conducted drills focused on joint anti-piracy operations, search and rescue, and air defense, said the spokesperson.
The exercise has strengthened communication and cooperation between the Chinese navy and the maritime forces of other participating countries, showcasing the resolve to jointly safeguard maritime security, Zhang said.
Zhang added that the Chinese military will continue to actively fulfill its international responsibilities and obligations, contributing to global peace and stability through concrete actions.
