U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized India for having high tariffs, announcing reciprocal levies on Indian goods. Amitendu Palit, senior research fellow at the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore, says the U.S. plans to raise tariffs on India while deepening trade ties.
