In early spring, macaw parrots' plumage resembles rainbow color palettes, adding vitality to Shanghai Zoo and attracting tourists' attention.
Macaws are considered the "stars" of the parrot family due to their impressive size, vibrant colors, and long tail feathers. They are indigenous to south and central America, and a few are now residents of Shanghai Zoo.
Currently, there are more than 30 macaws living in the zoo. Zookeepers have created a comfortable environment for them, with a warm indoor space and spacious outdoor activity areas, allowing these king-size birds to fly freely.
