With the deepening of cultural exchanges between Chinese and American users of RedNote, the differences between the two countries in areas such as housing, work, education and healthcare have come into sharp focus.
Chinese and American users have engaged in discussions about different aspects of their lives, helping many Americans gain a deeper understanding of China's social development and busting some of the myths propagated by sections of the Western media.
In this video, a U.S. RedNote user said she came to know about medical costs in China only after joining the platform. She said she was "blown away" by her discussions with Chinese users and realized that U.S. citizens "are beholden to the pharmaceutical companies and lobbyists," enduring an "obsolete and horrible" medical system. "We need affordable healthcare for everyone," she emphasized.
