China's policy towards the United States maintains continuity and stability, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Friday during a meeting with Graham Allison, a professor at Harvard University, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
In light of the intertwined international situation, China must shoulder the responsibility of a major country by continuing to inject certainty into the world and playing a constructive role in advancing global peace and stability, Wang said.
He added that China will continue to follow the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation to guide the development of China-U.S. relations and promote sound, stable ties between the two countries.
Allison expressed hope that the United States and China, as two major nations, could engage in effective cooperation and play a key role in addressing international and regional hotspot issues, such as the Ukraine crisis.
