A symposium on private enterprises was held in Beijing, where industry leaders from various sectors, including the new energy and automotive industries, provided their insights into development strategies and shared their experiences in expanding overseas markets.
China's auto industry saw a steady start in 2025, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on Monday. Passenger vehicle production reached 2.15 million units in January, while sales totaled 2.13 million units, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 3.3 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively, according to CAAM data.
New energy vehicle (NEV) production and sales stood at 1.015 million and 944,000 units separately, representing a year-on-year growth of 29 percent and 29.4 percent. NEVs accounted for 38.9 percent of total new vehicle sales in January.
In terms of exports, China exported a total of 470,000 vehicles in January, an increase of 6.1 percent year on year. Among them, NEV exports reached 150,000 units, surging 49.6 percent year on year.
