Minus 52 degrees Celsius doesn't particularly sound like an enjoyable environment, but for Beiji Village in northeast China, that number happens to be its claim to fame – being China's lowest-ever recorded temperature. For locals, the frigid climate of what's often referred to as the country's "North Pole" has long been seen as a curse. Yet in recent years, Mother Nature's subzero temperatures have enabled the village to experience an economic boom, turning it into a major tourist destination. Huang Yichang has the story.
