Elon Musk's 'scary smart' Grok 3 set for release

Elon Musk's xAI is set to release Grok 3 at 12 p.m. on February 18.

Described as "scary smart" by Musk, Grok 3 is said to feature improved reasoning, computational power and adaptability over its predecessor.

The development of Grok 3 was expedited with the help of xAI's Colossus supercomputer, which uses 100,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs, providing 10 times the computational resources compared to Grok 2.

This boost enables more efficient data processing, reducing training times and enhancing accuracy.

In addition to computational power, Grok 3 features several key improvements in its training approach.

These include the use of synthetic datasets to simulate diverse scenarios, self-correction mechanisms for refining errors, and reinforcement learning to improve decision-making through trial and error.

xAI claims these updates will reduce hallucinations – incorrect responses – by adding validation steps and ensuring better logical accuracy.

The model also integrates human feedback loops, where reviewers assess the relevance and accuracy of its outputs, and contextual training, which allows the AI to adapt its responses based on past interactions and user intent.

Early tests indicate that Grok 3 outperforms competitors like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's DeepMind Gemini in complex reasoning tasks.

In a recent interview at The World Governments Summit in Dubai, Musk stated, "This might be the last time that an AI is better than Grok," highlighting the model's advanced capabilities.
