Foreign ministers laud China-Hungary bilateral relations

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Hungarian counterpart, Peter Szijjarto, spoke highly of bilateral relations as they met at the United Nations headquarters in New York on Tuesday.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said he appreciates that the Hungarian side has always regarded China as an opportunity for development and emphasized that China will always be a trustworthy partner for Hungary regardless of changes in the international climate.

Noting that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Europe, Wang expressed belief that Hungary will continue to play a constructive role in the healthy and stable development of China-Europe relations.

Szijjarto said Hungary values the friendship between the two countries and is pleased to have maintained close high-level exchanges, good communication and have achieved remarkable results in various fields of practical cooperation.

Hungary is ready to work with China to promote the relations between the two countries to a new level, he said.

Effective cooperation between Europe and China meets the common interests of all parties, and Hungary will continue to be committed to promoting the development of Europe-China relations, he added.
