China places its relations with Pakistan as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and will continue to uphold justice and speak out for Pakistan in international forums, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Tuesday.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York.

China is committed to strengthening development strategy alignment with Pakistan, especially deepening cooperation in agricultural modernization and industrialization, to help Pakistan enhance its independent development capabilities, Wang added.

He also expressed hopes that Pakistan will take effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions in Pakistan.

Dar said Pakistan attaches great importance to and will fully ensure the safety of Chinese institutions and personnel in Pakistan.

Pakistan appreciates China's leadership in the global agenda and will continue to closely cooperate and support China, he added.
