Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent have discussed economic issues in a video call. He Lifeng is also China's lead negotiator for China-U.S. economic and trade affairs. He and Bessent discussed the implementation of the consensus reached in a phone call by the Chinese and U.S. leaders. Both sides recognized the importance of China-U.S. economic and trade relations and agreed to continue to maintain communication on issues of mutual concern. China expressed serious concerns about Washington's recent restrictive measures, including the imposition of U.S. tariffs on China.
